NKY is helping our community serve! nkyHELPS is changing to better serve local nonprofits and volunteers by giving you and the organizations you care about most more ways to serve those in need.  

Since nkyHELPS launched in 2008, the site facilitated more than 4,000 connections between volunteers and more than 230 organizations. Through these volunteers’ contributions of time and resources, nonprofits in Northern Kentucky have been able to serve our community more effectively.

The partners that created this site are pleased to inform you there is an excellent new regional resource where volunteers and nonprofits (organizations, local governments and schools) can connect:  www.volunteeruwgc.org.  The United Way Volunteer Connection and its online database are the new destination to continue your contribution to our community.

This site allows customized searches by topic and by zip-code, and you can register to track your volunteer hours. There are already nearly 850 volunteer opportunities listed –currently about 160 of them in Northern Kentucky!  This is great news that volunteers and nonprofits throughout our region can now find each other through one centralized portal.

In order to streamline our regional support for volunteer services and support United Way’s investment in this area, nkyHELPS.org is redirecting users to www.volunteeruwgc.org. We are proud that our efforts led to both to the positive connections for nonprofits and volunteers during the last four years and spurred the additional interest in this field by United Way.
